Sarah Todd, the present restaurateur, once a model and a soon-to-be author, named the food joint, ‘Antares’ which literally means a bright star. Located along the Vagator beach of Goa, this alfresco restaurant has an Indianised French food menu with lot of focus led on the charcoal & grill section. Both veggies and non-veggies will have ample choice of food prepared with Australian techniques. If you think that’s too much of an experiment on food, then you should know that they are indeed popular in these few months of exploration. Todd explains, “One of my biggest challenges has been getting the right ingredients to cook with. We even went out fishing with the fishermen one day to actually see where the seafood is procured from. After months of trial and error, we’ve sorted out sustainable sources for quality produce and I’m very happy with the way the menu has turned out. In fact, I’ve surprised myself!”

Ciclo Café, Chennai

 The country’s first cycling café opened in Chennai this year with major contributions from automobile companies like Hercules, BSA, and Montra. The concept of cycle café is not new, and is an adaptation from Europe and America with interiors dominated with cycle parts. Converted cycle forks into long tables and chandeliers with cycle chains make this café stand out to the eyes. It also houses huge bicycle stores comprising international brands like Schwinn, Mongoose, Cannondale, Bianchi, Montra and GT. The food is mostly cake-like based on Continental and Italian genre.
