Bangalore: Are you planning to buy a car for your family? Now a day, buying a car is not a big deal for commoners in India. But the place where you stay or the state from where you want to buy the car certainly matters a lot.

The best-selling models (in August 2012) of most of the leading automotive brands competing in the Indian market have different rates in different states. Be it tax variation or company policies, a middle-class man, especially one who is about to have his first car bought out of his savings, would find it perplexing if he goes online in search of on road and showroom prices for his favorite cars.

Here we have tried to compile the approximate prices of ten mostly sold car models in the month of August in our country, which differ according to the state in which they are sold. According to the data we could collect, most of these 10 models get maximum prices (roughly) when they are sold in Karnataka (Bangalore) and least in Delhi.

1: I didn't know that on road prices could vary like this! I have heard that the registration costs vary, but not this. Thanks SI! But how about the other states?

its cheaper in very state, but ya delhi is the cheapest, in my home state Jharkhand there is a flat road tax of 15K on any car you buy, unlike karnataka, where minimum is 10% of car value and if car is a luxury model it goes upto 20+% of car value. That's the reason people of bangalore get their luxury vehicle registered in pondicherry as in Pondi road tax is flat 25K.
