BENGALURU: If people can love ancient structures or traditions, there is no reason why people can’t fall in love with cars for 100 years. The automotive industry has changed beyond recognition over the years but there are few cars built by various brands that have stood out amongst the rest and have endured the test of time. Some people buy a car for looks, while others provoke strong emotions, either way these 10 cars have been the hottest amongst customers over the last 100 years, as reported by Business Insider.

Jaguar E-Type

To the British motor industry, the name of Jaguar spells success and that’s the reason why the Jaguar E-Type still holds the tag of the hottest car ever built.

Having been debuted in 1961 by Jaguar Cars Ltd, the cars combination of good looks, high performance and competitive pricing established the marquee as an icon of 1960s motoring, where more than 70,000 E-Types were sold.

Powered with a triple SU carburetted 3.8 litre six-cylinder, the car could boost up 265 bhp, 198 kW and top speed of 150 mph, 241 km/h. Although earlier built cars utilized external bonnet latches, which required a tool to open and had a flat floor design, these cars are considered to be rare and more valuable.
