Zoom and Microsoft have partnered to deliver Direct Guest Join
With organizations across the world implementing new solutions to stay connected, including video communication, it has created a diverse ecosystem of solutions and technologies from different providers.
And while there are many different video conferencing providers in this ecosystem, not all of them are able to connect or interoperate with each other. As employees work from home, the office, or a mix of both, they need to easily and effectively communicate using reliable workspace solutions, regardless of what solution the other party is using.
To help streamline foundational video communication in workspaces, Zoom and Microsoft have partnered to deliver Direct Guest Join, a seamless and intuitive solution that allows Zoom Rooms to call into Microsoft Teams meetings, and vice versa, without the purchase of additional licenses or third-party services.
How does Direct Guest Join work?
The Direct Guest Join feature makes it easy for Zoom and Microsoft Teams customers to join each others’ meetings with the click of a button. With this latest update, Zoom Rooms customers can directly join Microsoft Teams meetings, and Microsoft Teams Rooms customers can directly join Zoom Meetings without using any special connectors — join a Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting at the press of a button!
Zoom Rooms with Microsoft Direct Guest Join can be used on Android, Windows and Mac room-based systems as well. Zoom’s hardware and technology partners, including Poly, Logitech, and Intel have moved quickly to support Direct Guest Join.
Direct Guest Join streamlines communications
Direct Guest Join helps you, your teams, and your external stakeholders get down to business faster and get more done together. Here are just a few of the ways Direct Guest Join streamlines communications:
·         Wasted meeting minutes are a thing of the past: Take back the five or 10 minutes it takes to set up the meeting or troubleshoot connection issues and collaborate faster.
·         Help streamline meetings with remote participants: Forget about asking remote participants or external stakeholders to join a Zoom Meeting or Microsoft Teams meeting from their computer to reliably connect — simply join with the click of a button from the Zoom Room.
·         Enjoy the functionality of your conference rooms: Give your meeting attendees the simple and dynamic in-room collaboration experience they deserve with the ability to leverage your video conferencing room system to call into Zoom or Teams meetings.
“By working with industry leaders such as Microsoft, Zoom is able to provide a simple meeting experience from any room or device,” said Oded Gal, Zoom’s Chief Product Officer.
