Indian MARCOS

The elite special operations unit of Indian navy, MARCOS in short Marine Commandos, has developed as one of the world’s well trained, well equipped, highly motivated and strongest Special Forces in the world. It is to believe that some of MARCOS training modules are much tougher than the U.S. Navy SEALs and British SAS. As India is a land of different terrains, MARCOS soldiers are trained in a way that they are capable to undertake missions in all types of terrains. Raised by the Indian Navy in 1987, MARCOS was tasked with special operations such as amphibious warfare, counter-terrorism, direct action, special reconnaissance, unconventional warfare, hostage rescue, personnel recovery, asymmetric warfare, counter proliferation; it has also been known to carry out wide variety of operations in foreign soil as well.

French Army Special Forces Brigade

The National Gendarmerie Intervention Group aka GIGN is a special operations unit of the French Armed Forces. GIGN was officially activated in 1973 and the need of such elite Special Forces group surfaced after the Munich massacre in the 1971 Olympic Games.  GIGN is a part of the National Gendarmerie and is specially trained to carry out counter-terrorism and hostage rescue missions in France as well as around the world.
