Warner Bros. Discovery Names New VP of AI and Automation
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has announced the appointment of Anish Agarwal as the new Vice President for its Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation Center of Excellence. In this role, Agarwal will spearhead the development and implementation of AI strategies across the company, ensuring seamless integration into its products and services.
According to Agarwal's LinkedIn update, his responsibilities will include direct oversight of several key positions, such as the Director of AI Orchestration, Automation and Data Science, the Director of AI and Automation Experience Design, and the Director of AI Solution Design and Architecture.
“I am looking forward to leveraging my extensive experience in AI and automation to drive meaningful impact at Warner Bros. Discovery. I am excited about the potential to collaborate with an incredibly talented team, tackle industry-defining challenges, and contribute to the continuous growth and success of the organization”, Agarwal stated in a recent post.
Agarwal brings a wealth of experience to WBD, having previously held positions at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Natwest Group, Clifford Chance, and Vertex Data Science. In his last role as the global head of data and analytics at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, he gained valuable insights into leadership and innovation.
Earlier this year, WBD launched its innovation center in Hyderabad, initially starting with 75 employees. Chief Technology Officer Avi Saxena noted that many internal operations, including IT help desks and collaboration tools, are heavily supported by the Hyderabad team.
WBD's technology and innovation teams are also spread across Pune and Bengaluru. Saxena highlighted talent acquisition as a key reason for expanding operations in India, projecting that the tech team in the country will grow to 1,000 employees by the end of the year.
