U.N. study shows India's population will rise to 1.7 Billion

Bangalore: According to population projections released by the United Nations, India's population is going to rise up to 1.718 billion in 2060, after which it is said to decline. At that point, India will be the most populous country there has ever been or probably ever will be. India's share in the world's population will peak in 2060 after which there is going to be a decline and the growth in the world's population from then on will be increased by Africa. This was shown according to the population projections release. It is said that China will be at its peak in 2025 and will have 1.395 billion people. India will begin to decline 35 years after China. It is also believed that when China's population rises, India's population would have already crossed China's population and would be almost double of China. The latest numbers come from the United Nation's 2010 revision of the World Population Prospects. The last revision was done in 2008. The population projection is based on national trends which is neither the best nor the worst. The variant for 2010 was that the world population in 2050 will be 9.31 billion, which is larger than the 2008 revision. It is also said that the world will have 10.1 billion people and by October 31 this year, the world will have its seven billionth person.
