Terrorists hiring jobless at 40,000 a month


Islamabad: Terrorist outfits in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province are recruiting jobless youth by paying them up to 40,000 a month, a Pakistani lawmaker has said. "Terrorists are luring these youth in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Tribal Areas with 'salaries' of 40,000 a month," said Senator Zahid Ali Khan of the Awami National Party (ANP), according to a report in the Urdu daily Jang Friday. Khan, the chairman of the Senate's Standing Committee on Health, made the statement at a meeting of the panel Thursday. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan, has been the most affected by terrorist violence with car bombings, shootings and attacks on police, security personnel and leading politicians almost a daily occurrence. The province is currently ruled by the ANP.
