Stripped off to Controversy, Veena says: 'Not Nude, but Topless'
Bangalore: Claiming 'not nude, but topless', Pakistani actress and model Veena Malik is in the news again. Nudity and obscenity is not new in media controversy. This time it is for FHM and Veena Malik and the controversy has grown deeper with Veena Malik suing FHM India for morphed cover picture. The FHM Magazine has also sent a legal notice to the Pakistani Model. Veena shot to extreme fame in the country after her appearance in the Indian version of Big Boss for various reasons including her cozy moments with Asmit Patel and Hrishant Gosswami.
Her nude appeal covered in the FHM Magazines’ 2011 December issue also showed an ISI tattoo on her arm. Amidst praises for her boldest shoot, the storm is in high as it is neither in favour of the Indian culture nor of Pakistan. However, Malik has denied posing for the image and claimed it a morphed one.
"I agreed to a photo shoot and having an ISI tattoo in a humorous way but I did not have any nude photos. My pictures have been morphed," she said. She has sued the magazine, demanding to cease and discontinue further publication and circulation of her obscene images in the FHM 2011 December issue. FHM is also asked to withdraw her nude images from their website. For the final settlement, FHM India has to pay her monetary damages, an amount of 10 Crores.
A part of the notice sent by Veena’s lawyers says: “The photo image where she has posed with tattoo on her hand was taken with bikini and/or thong worn by our client. It is a common ground and an admitted position that our client has not for any of the images posed nude. For all the images and photographs which were shot, our client had clothes on. Our client, therefore, states that the photographs which are being circulated and published in the FHM magazine December 2011 and Internet site of FHM magazine have been deliberately tampered with and/or morphed with a view to cause wrongful gain to you and cause wrongful loss to our client.” The notice was mailed to Maxposure Corporate Media (India) Private Limited, Kabeer Sharma (Chief Editor, FHM Magazine) and the photographer Vishal Saxena.
