Kim Clijsters is a retired Belgian professional tennis player. When she played she was ranked world no 1 in both singles and doubles. In her career she went on to win 41 WTA singles titles, 11 WTA double titles along with 4 Grand Slam singles and 3 US Open titles and an Australian Open as well.
Due to injuries and motherhood this Tennis star from Belgium was forced into retirement as she felt she was not giving her best to either her child or her game.
But she couldn’t stay away from the game for too long, a year after her child was born she announced her comeback to professional tennis in 2009. Her comeback was surrounded by a lot of skepticism but she silenced all her critic by winning the 2009 and 2012 US Open title. In 2009 she become the second mother after Evonne Goolagong to win a title. The next year she went on to win the 2011 Australian Open title as well. She retired from tennis after her third-round loss to Laura Robson in the 2012 US Open.
