Samsung Employees Globally Engage in World Water Day Conservation Activities
Samsung Electronics marked World Water Day on March 22 by mobilizing 44,000 employees, local governments, NGOs, and residents across 22 worksites globally to engage in various water conservation endeavors. Recognized by the United Nations, World Water Day underscores the fundamental right to water access and emphasizes initiatives to combat water scarcity and pollution.
Since 2006, Samsung has been actively involved in a multitude of events involving employees and local communities, including river cleanups near worksites and water conservation campaigns. Aligned with this year's World Water Day theme, "Leveraging Water for Peace", Samsung orchestrated special initiatives such as providing assistance with drinking water for vulnerable populations and conducting educational programs on water conservation.
Junhwa Lee, Vice President of Global EHS, Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, highlighted the significance of World Water Day, stating, "Samsung Electronics executives and employees take time to reflect on the importance of clean water by participating in water conservation activities". Lee emphasized the ongoing commitment to ensure clean water availability for future generations.
To commemorate World Water Day, Samsung encouraged individuals to explore photo highlights showcasing water conservation activities conducted worldwide.
