Raksha Bandhan is a celebration of brothers and sisters celebrating their strong bond and relationship. This festival is observed on the full moon day (Poornima Tithi) of the Hindu month of Shravana which moreover falls in the month of August. Legend Poet and nationalist Rabindranath Tagore has used this festival as a symbol of friendship between the Hindus and Muslims during the Partition of Bengal in 1905 to demolish the ridge between the two religions which was tactically plotted by British, who captured India. He also composed Banglar Mati, Banglar Jol song as the anthem of this vehement opposition.
