Rajasthan Border, New Way to Sneak In For Pak Smugglers

Bangalore: Pakistani smugglers found it hard to smuggle their goods across the international border adjoining Punjab because of the strict patrolling of security agencies. But, they are now doing so through Rajasthan border as they find it safe to smuggle heroin, fake currency notes and weapon consignment into the Indian Territory, as reported by Times of India. This is done particularly through the border adjoining Ganganagar, Barmer and Jaisalmer.

After receiving the information the Border Security Force (BSF) has become very alert and has begun a special campaign in which sensitive places are recognized and additional staffs are being deployed along with surveillance equipment.

Pakistani smugglers have tried to enter India through Punjab border in the past few months, but the BSF killed them and seized over 200 kg of heroin. Soon the Pakistan smugglers and terrorists started using Rajasthan border and tried to get into India from Ganganagar border and other state borders.

Also, there are many border areas which are quite convenient for these smugglers. A while ago, 8 kg of heroin with Pakistan mark was caught at Jaisalmer. But, till now it is still unknown from which place this consignment was brought.

The BSF has come up with a special campaign. As there is also a shortage of patrolling staff, additional staff will be deployed. They also plan on putting up Flood Lights at places where there is no light. Along with it, a reconnaissance is conducted at places where surveillance equipment like Laros Thermal Imagers can be installed. The BSF has asked for surveillance equipment from the headquarters. Sources said there is information that Rajasthan border can also be used as a way in for terrorists.
