President Murmu Visits Maha Kumbh, Takes Holy Dip at Triveni Sangam
President Droupadi Murmu reached Prayagraj on Monday as she attended the ongoing Maha Kumbh, an emblematic of spiritual and cultural celebration. She took a holy dip in the waters of Triveni Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythological Saraswati rivers, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
During her eight-hour visit, the President also visited the revered Akshayavat tree, an ancient symbol of immortality in Sanatan culture, and offered prayers at the Bade Hanuman Temple, seeking prosperity and well-being for the nation.
Beyond religious engagements, President Murmu explored the Digital Maha Kumbh Experience Centre, an advanced facility offering a virtual insight into the Kumbh Mela. The initiative aims to educate visitors, both domestic and international, about the grandeur of the event through immersive technology.
Security arrangements were tight all over the city. The event also had a historical significance, since she was walking in the steps of India's first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who had taken a holy dip during the previous Kumbh.
The visit of the President underlined the Maha Kumbh's spiritual and cultural legacy. She concluded her visit and left for New Delhi by 5:45 PM.
