Maha Kumbh: Cultural Celebrations with Top Artistes from Feb 7-10
After the auspicious Basant Panchami Snan on February 3, the grand 'Maha Kumbh of Culture' festival is going to continue, celebrating India's rich traditions at the Ganga Pandal. Organized by the Culture Department, the event will showcase a spectacular lineup of performances by renowned artistes from across the country, set to take place from February 7 to 10.
The festival will start with a great Odissi dance performance by Dona Ganguly on February 7, followed by Sufi singing by Yogesh and Abha Gandharv, and classical music by Suma Sudhindra. On the same day, Dr. Devkinandan Sharma from Mathura will also present a Rasleela performance.
On February 8, there will be playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy who, along with noted violinist Dr. L. Subramaniam, will stage Sugam Sangeet performance. Kolkata's Preeti Patel will perform on Manipuri dance, and Narendra Nath will do a soulful Sarod performance. The repertoire will again feature Rasleela performance by Dr. Devkinandan Sharma.
February 9 will see Sugam Sangeet by Suresh Wadkar and Hindustani classical music by Padma Shri Madhup Mudgal. The day will also feature Odissi dance by Sonal Mansingh, alongside another Rasleela performance by Dr. Devkinandan Sharma.
The final day, February 10, will bring the magic of Sugam Sangeet with Hariharan, Odissi dance by Shubhda Varadkar, and Carnatic music by Sudha from Tamil Nadu.
Notably, cultural events will be suspended from February 11 to 13 in view of the Magh Purnima Snan on February 12. The Maha Kumbh has already witnessed massive participation with spiritual leaders and devotees gathering at Triveni Sangam, praising the arrangements by the Yogi Adityanath government while countering critics of the event.
