‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ is realized by the stupendous initiative taken all across the country by PM Modi. It is mandatory to observe every first day of week as ‘Swachchta Diwas’ and ‘Swachchta Geet’ to be recited in schools during an assembly or lunch break. The initiative was undertaken to inculcate the habit of cleanliness of one’s soul and their surroundings. As a part of ‘Swachchta Abhiyan’, the government introduced diploma courses for water, sanitation and solid waste management.
