PM Modi to Address Indian Industry Leaders on 'Journey Towards Viksit Bharat'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the inaugural session of the ‘Journey Towards Viksit Bharat: A Post Union Budget 2024-25 Conference’ at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday, July 30. Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the conference will outline the government’s vision for economic growth and the crucial role of industry in achieving this goal, as per a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
The event will witness the participation of over 1,000 industry leaders, government officials, diplomats, and representatives from think tanks. Additionally, many more will connect virtually from various CII centers across the country and overseas, making it a significant congregation of influential stakeholders.
In his previous statements, PM Modi emphasized that the Union Budget 2024-25 will act as a catalyst for transforming India into the world’s third-largest economy, laying a strong foundation for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India). "This budget will ensure inclusive growth, benefiting every segment of society and paving the way for a developed India", PM Modi asserted. He highlighted the government’s achievements over the past decade, noting, "This is a budget that will take the country's villages, poor, and farmers on the path of prosperity. In the last ten years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty".
The Prime Minister’s address comes in the context of the recent NITI Aayog meeting he chaired, themed ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’, focusing on India’s ambition to become a developed nation. During the meeting, PM Modi underscored the critical role of states in this national endeavor, emphasizing their direct connection with the people.
PM Modi pointed out the significant economic progress India has made in the past decade. From being the 10th-largest economy in the world in 2014, India is now the 5th-largest economy in 2024. He projected that India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, with its GDP crossing the $5 trillion mark, aiming for a $30 trillion economy by 2047.
The Union government’s ‘Team India’ approach, which involves collaborative efforts with states, is central to achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. PM Modi stressed the importance of seizing opportunities arising from global technological and geopolitical shifts to propel India’s growth further.
The conference aims to foster dialogue and collaboration between the government and industry leaders, ensuring that the collective efforts contribute significantly to India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation. With the focus on inclusive and sustained economic growth, PM Modi’s address is expected to set the tone for India’s future economic strategies and industry participation.
