“That underscores the significance of the relationship between the United States and India, which is the world’s largest democracy,” the White House Press Secretary said.

Spokesperson Jen Psaki said the discussions will cover full range of bilateral issues, such as partnering with India on its economic goals and objectives, including its priorities in infrastructure, manufacturing, and skills and how can U.S. continue efforts in removing impediments to expand bilateral trade to $500 billion annually.

Modi and Obama will also discuss India’s energy security, including the use of clean energy and technology to meet the needs of the country’s population.

“We also look forward to discussing the Prime Minister Modi’s domestic objectives for India, including his focus on sustainable development for all Indians, sanitation and security and defense, and how the United States can partner with him on these priorities,” she said.
