Magic Passage and Rock Planet, Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea is home to many natural and artificial reefs. The artificial reefs have mostly grown around crashed biplanes from World War 1 and 2, around sunken live volcanoes, coral cays and large undersea caves. The two hotspots are Planet Rock and Magic Passage. Planet Rock is an active volcanic mount which can only be reached in calm weather, and is the habitat of millions of barnacles, hammerhead fishes, and tuna

Magic passage is a passage between two islands that fish use to travel from one side to the other during high tide. Sharks, turtles and dugongs can be found here and well as huge sea fans and whip corals, sprouting from the sea floor.
