Meeting of the US-India Business Council to Strengthen Defense Cooperation Between the Two Countries

US-India Business Council has held a round table discussion with Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister, Satheesh Reddy, and Director-General (Naval Systems and Materials) MZ Siddique on steps to strengthen the US-India defense partnership.

The Director-General (Naval Systems and Materials) MZ Siddique and Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister Satheesh Reddy participated in a roundtable discussion with the US-India Business Council on ways to improve the US-India defense relationship. Atul Keshap, President of the USIBC, and Keith Webster, President of the Defence and Aerospace Council (DAC) of the US Chamber of Commerce, among other dignitaries, discussed how India can support the US as a major defense partner and as a net security provider in the Indo-Pacific through increased engagement with international defense companies.

USIBC held a lively member roundtable discussion on steps to strengthen the U.S.-India defense partnership with Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to the Indian Defense Minister Dr. MZ Siddique, Director General (Naval Systems and Materials), Amb. Atul Keshap, and Keith Webster, Attendees highlighted how increased engagement with global military businesses may enhance India's role as a significant defense partner to the US and a net security provider in the Indo-Pacific.

The US-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies was officially launched by USIBC at an earlier event, which was attended by US National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. NSA Ajit Doval and Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu emphasized India's outstanding capacity for technology development and absorption in a roundtable hosted by USIBC, according to a statement from the US Chamber of Commerce. They highlighted India's use of technology as a tool for social inclusion as well as an engine of economic growth.

US Chamber of Commerce officials highlighted India's increasing contribution to the global technology value chain through a statement issued by Doval and Sandhu. They emphasized the significance of loosening export control regulations to promote India and the US's joint production, development, and access to technology.
