Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is set to unveil its first electric vehicle (EV), the e VITARA, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This production-ready eBorn SUV is a global model manufactured in India and was recently introduced by Suzuki Motor Corporation in Milan, Italy.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, emphasized the significance of the e VITARA, stating, “It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainable mobility and technological innovation”. He highlighted the integration of advanced electric technology with a customer-first approach, aiming to deliver a transformative driving experience.
Banerjee also addressed a major barrier to EV adoption: the lack of accessible charging infrastructure. He stated, “To tackle this issue, we are committed to introducing a reliable and comprehensive EV ecosystem alongside the e VITARA”. This initiative will feature home charging solutions and a nationwide network of fast chargers at Maruti Suzuki dealerships and service points.
The goal is to make EVs more accessible, convenient, and appealing to a wider audience. “This is exactly what we have set out to achieve with the e VITARA”, Banerjee added, reinforcing Maruti Suzuki's dedication to fostering an environment conducive to EV ownership and promoting sustainable transportation in India.
