The food startup has come up with a thoughtful yet smart idea of providing meals to the flood victims in Chennai. Now every time you book a meal for yourself using their app or website, the startup would provide meal to the victims for each purchase in return. The company has so far provided meals to 55,000 people stuck in Chennai. However, the scheme had to be kept on hold for distribution backlog.   

Bigbasket
The food startup is helping the victims in Chennai with the much required food. Operating in collaboration with Give Away, Bigbasket is providing food necessities like bread, milk, oil, dal, wheat, water, eggs, and biscuits. Users from Bangalore can place their orders on the CSR campaign page of Bigbasket, where 50 pct of the contributions are being provided to Chennai.

Lookup
Lookup is operating currently in Chennai, is a utility startup where users can drop in a text to avail any service. The startup is working in collaboration with an independent youth non-profit organization, Bhumi. The app lets the users to come forward and donate necessary commodities like clothes, medicines and other materials for the victims.

Practo
Users can look for doctors in their locality and book appointments using the app, Practo. In Chennai, this app is offering an online spreadsheet with contact details of doctors and hospitals available for help.

“Practo will be updating this list every hour, based on the crowd sourcing inputs they generate through this initiative. Please note that all doctors and hospitals are being verified by the Practo team personally to ensure that there is no spam data present on this document,” said the company in its press release, reports firstpost.

Urbanclap
This startup connects the users with the local service providers with a varied range of services. For the flood affected Chennai this Delhi-based startup has offered free pest control services in the affected areas last month.
