Kiss of Love Organizers Undeterred by Police Orders

City Police Commissioner Alok Kumar also confirmed that the organizer’s intention to go ahead with the program despite of the denial for permission. He firmly reiterated that the group had not been given permission.

The organizers retaliated to the police, asking if the event could be permitted in Kochi, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Puducherry, and Chennai, why not in Bengaluru, since the obscenity law applies throughout the country. One of the volunteers in the event asked, "If the event is indeed obscene, why was permission not denied in the other cities?" "Bengaluru police cannot re-define ‘obscenity.’ They are duty-bound to provide security cover and protect us from the onslaught of fanatic elements; instead, they are toeing the latter's line and resorting to moral policing. What is the difference between a Pramod Muthalik and the Bengaluru city police?".

So, as far as the group is concerned, they are ready to carry forth the movement in Bengaluru and the police on the other hand are prepared to abstain the movement from unnecessary repercussions.
