JioStar Appoints G R Arun Kumar as Chief Financial Officer

JioStar has named G R Arun Kumar as its new Chief Financial Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company sharpens its focus on financial discipline, agility, and long-term growth. The appointment was announced by Vice Chairman Uday Shankar.
Arun Kumar brings nearly three decades of experience across finance, strategy, and operations. In his new role, he will oversee JioStar’s finance and commercial functions and work closely with the board, chief executives, and senior leaders to support profitability, growth, and strong financial governance.
Before joining JioStar, Arun Kumar served as Group Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy at the Welspun Group. There, he managed key areas including financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and investor relations, playing a central role in driving strategic initiatives across the group.
Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at several global and Indian organizations, including Unilever, Vedanta, General Electric, and OLA. These roles gave him wide exposure to diverse industries and markets in India and abroad, strengthening his expertise in managing large, complex businesses.
