IRI Hosts RUBBERCON 2024, International Rubber Conference in Kochi
The Indian Rubber Institute(IRI) is organizing the prestigious RUBBERCON 2024, International Rubber Conference, at Le Meridien, Kochi, Kerala, from 5th to 7th December 2024. This year's theme of the conference, 'Sustainable Development in the Rubber Industry: Challenges and Opportunities', aims to discuss critical issues related to sustainability in the rubber sector from the viewpoints of global experts.
RUBBERCON 2024 is the officially sponsored conference of the International Rubber Conference Organization, located in London, UK. IRCO is the global association of rubber societies that guarantee all conferences, which its member societies are organizing, are at high standards. RUBBERCON is a niche event first launched in 2011 and it follows those high standards that allow thought leaders and experts to examine new trends and technological innovations in the rubber industry.
The main organizing professional body to event is IRI, who's a well-known professional society with the Indian rubber industry and has over 4,000 members from across India into its eight branches, located across places like Chennai, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Mumbai and Rajasthan. Through its training classes, exhibitions, and publications, IRI has contributed to the growth of the rubber industry in India, producing over 3,500 Chartered Rubber Technologists.
Along with RUBBERCON 2024, IRI aims to drive the education in rubber technology through the D. Banerjee Centre of Excellence (DBCOE) located in JSS Science and Technology University in Mysore, Karnataka. It specializes in research, training, and skill development in the area of the rubber industry especially the micro, small, and medium enterprises sectors which is on the technologies in the development, design products, and formulating compounding.
The institute traces its roots back to 1946 when the Indian Advisory Committee of the Institute of Rubber Industry, UK, was first formed. Through the years, the organization has grown and now carries an impressive legacy of technical education and industrial development.
