India's Safest Cities for Women
Bangalore: Can safety be a privilege, in unsafe countries it very much is. The need to know, how safe the country or city is before traveling is among the top priorities these days. When it comes to solo women travelers it is very important as it comes handy to know the level of risk involved in the journey. It helps women to know when and where they need to keep their guards on and where they can relax. Here are the 4 Indian cities polled by TripAdvisor as per the degree of safety involved in paying a visit to each one of them.
Mumbai
Mumbai got the maximum poll for being the safest city in India. A majority of 34 percent respondents claimed Mumbai to be the safest city among the major metros. 27 percent of women said they considered Maharashtra to be the safest state in the country. These findings were compiled in the ‘Solo Women Traveller Survey 2013’.
The survey also brought forth the dismay among women who travel alone; most women travellers feel that travelling overseas is much safer than travelling in India. 24 percent respondents claimed that they do worry about their safety when they travel in India than to any international destinations. Just 6 percent women in the survey said they feel safer travelling in India than abroad. As per tripadvisor.in tourists who travel to Mumbai should have a sense of caution, especially those who travel alone. Visitors must use their street smartness in order to remain safe.
Mumbai, the commercial and entertainment capital, is one of the most desirable destinations, the site also cautioned travelers to guard themselves against the most common crime, pick pocketing.
