Mahatma Gandhi

‘Father of Nation’, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi returned to India in 1915 and took control of the Indian nationalist movement and led three huge movements: Non-Cooperation Movement in 1920-22, the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1930-31 and the Quit India Movement (1942). His non-violent ways and methods of following Christianity, made him develop his techniques. Popularly known as Bapuji, he always followed the path of Truth and Non-violence to attain freedom and his methods still inspire the world. During his struggle, he asked people of India to boycott foreign goods and possessions to bring that patriotic feeling to the people. This movement coupled with various others played a major role in India attaining independence in 1947. Years later, in 1950 he was shot by Nathuram Godse.
