FREMONT, CA: Six Indian American women were included in Barron’s third annual list of the hundred most influential women in the US finance industry. The list honors the women who are shaping the country’s modern financial service sector. The women are chosen by a panel of Barron’s writers and editors, and the list includes executives from major US-based companies, security analysts, public servants, investment managers, and policymakers.

List of Indian-American Women Part of the 3rd Barron’s List

• Maya Chorengel: She brought investing into the mainstream by demonstrating that investing capital is a fruitful way to tackle social and environmental issues. Chorengel is also an advocator about Asian-American and Pacific Island communities.

• Anu Aiyengar: She is the Global Co-Head of M&A at JPMorgan. From early in her career, Aiyenger has been interested in M&A, crunching numbers, legal contracts, and building client relationships. Over the past couple of years, Aiyengar and her team have made M&A deals of $1.5 trillion despite the pandemic.

• Rupal Bhansali: She is the Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager of International and Global Equity Strategy at Ariel Investment. Bhansali manages over $7 billion, including Ariel’s Internationals and global funds. This was the third time Bhansali was included in Barron’s list.

• Sonal Desai: She is the Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income Group at Franklin Templeton Group. She is also a member of Franklin Templeton Group’s Executive Committee. Desai is a portfolio manager for several strategies, such as Core Plus, Strategic Income, and Global Fixed Income. Desai earned her bachelor's degree from Delhi University and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. She has previously worked at the IMF.

• Gunjan Kedia: She is the Vice-Chair of Wealth Management and Investment Services at US Bancorp. She has previously worked as the executive VP at State Street Corporation. After getting a bachelor's degree from Delhi University, she pursued her master's at Carnegie Mellon University.

• Savita Subramanian: She is the head of US Equity Strategy & Quantitative Strategy at the Bank of America Securities. She manages the sell-side of the firm’s US stock market research. Raised in San Francisco Bay Area, Subramanium studied at Berkeley's University of California.
