IIT Roorkee Wins 10th CII Industrial IP Awards 2024

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has been honored with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Intellectual Property (IP) Award 2024, recognizing its significant contributions to innovation, IP management, and the commercialization of technologies. This award underscores the Institute’s leadership in fostering an IP-savvy ecosystem and advancing India’s technological landscape.
According to an official statement from IIT Roorkee, this achievement stems from its robust innovation ecosystem, which combines research, industry collaboration, and a strong commitment to protecting intellectual property. A crucial factor in this success is the active utilization of various government schemes that provide essential support, enabling IIT Roorkee to prioritize IP management and technology commercialization.
This year, IIT Roorkee has set a record with a notable increase in IP filings and granted patents, marking a new benchmark in its efforts. The faculty's dedication to developing innovative technologies that address real-world challenges across diverse sectors has been instrumental in this achievement. The Institute has also focused on the commercialization of its technologies through a dedicated technology transfer and innovation cell, facilitating partnerships with industry players, start-ups, and government agencies.
KK Pant, the Director of IIT Roorkee, expressed pride in receiving the CII IP Award 2024, stating, “This recognition reflects our sustained efforts to cultivate an IP-driven culture at IIT Roorkee.
