IIT Bombay Climbs 31 Places in QS World University Rankings
In a remarkable feat of academic excellence, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has surged ahead in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. The institution's ranking catapulted from 149th to 118th this year, marking a significant improvement in its global standing.
With an overall score of 56.3 out of 100, IIT Bombay's rise in the QS rankings reflects its commitment to academic brilliance and innovation. The results, unveiled recently, underscore the institute's exceptional performance across various parameters.
Particularly noteworthy is IIT Bombay's stellar performance in Employer Reputation, where it achieved an impressive score of 86.0, securing a global rank of 63. This recognition highlights the institute's strong ties with industry and its graduates' high employability.
Moreover, IIT Bombay excelled in citations per faculty (79.1), academic reputation (58.5), employment outcomes (64.5), and sustainability (52.5), further cementing its reputation as a leading academic institution on the world stage.
Expressing delight over the achievement, Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director of IIT Bombay, credited the collective efforts of faculty, students, and staff for the remarkable ascent. Earlier this year, IIT Bombay's prowess in engineering and technology was reaffirmed when it secured the 45th position in the QS World University Rankings by Subject for 2024.
