Hilarious Myths That Can Make You ROFL

Invention: Wind Turbines

Myth: Wind turbines cause nausea and anxiety

Wind turbines have the immense potential of producing green energy without causing any kind of pollution. In countries like Germany and Denmark 10-20 percent of the energy is contributed by the wind turbines. While a part of the world is being benefited by such an invention there is another part of the world which is suffering from “wind turbine syndrome”. Funny isn’t it?

It is widely believed that wind turbines can trigger a plethora of symptoms in people ranging from vertigo, anxiety, nausea to heart palpitations. Science proves this invalid whereas the dozens of law suits argue that their vague feelings are attributed to those wind turbines. They really didn't have better things to do other than blaming the poor wind turbine.

Invention: Polyphonic Music

Myth: Polyphonic Music is the tool of the devil

Polyphony as opposed to monophony consists of two or more lines independent of the melody. This beautiful piece or art form was the cause of crisis in the 13th and 14th centuries. The theological crisis arose when the young and liberal musicians bombarded the church’s sanctity with the ‘Devil’s Noise’—polyphonic music. People could not withstand the fact that there was more than one voice and one instrument, which is in fact the basis of all kinds of music today. That was considered to be an ‘indecent mass’. Monophony is more like Alarm tone, which according to them is the best form. People went on to ban the polyphonic music insisting that ‘they intoxicate the ears’. Forget polyphony, their theory makes me wonder what would happen if they heard Bob Marley? God Bless Them.
