Opening the session, Dr Saha spoke of how our country has remained resolute despite numerous attacks on our culture and tradition from abroad. “Earlier, the name of India was brought to the forefront through Swami Vivekananda. And now, through our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving ahead. There have been people like Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Ram Jethmalani, and many such persons in India, associated with politics as experienced lawyers. Lawyers play a very important part in Indian politics. A black robe would only mean ornamentation to lawyers. This would be a cause of pride for you. It’s time lawyers take their leading role to shape and develop India, as well as Tripura”, he said.

“The courts have been established in every place in the state so that justice can be delivered. Courts have been formed even up to the sub division level. Earlier, people had to come to Agartala or the district headquarters for trials. But now, people have got the same chance even at the sub division level. Even job opportunities are being generated. Not only lawyers, but even their assistants are also joining them. All people from various backgrounds are coming to the lawyers along with their problems. Even people come to them for problems related to home, murder, land problems, and so on. It is also very important to update themselves. Law and politics are always related,” said Dr Saha.

While addressing the audience, Dr Saha also pointed out that lawyers need to deal with people from all levels of society. “And now we are blessed with so great a Prime Minister and Home Minister. Now we are marching ahead in the direction shown to us by them. Now we are in the safe custody of reliable persons. Prime Minister Modi is increasing the power of the nation slowly and slowly. Earlier, there was just corruption and scandals everywhere", he continued.
