Google has appointed entrepreneur and startup leader Ragini Das as the new Head of Google for Startups, India. The role marks a full circle moment for Das, who once interviewed for Google in 2013 but took a different path, one that has since shaped her as a startup leader.

Das shared that while she didn’t make it into Google back then, her six years at Zomato gave her the foundation to grow professionally and personally. She credits the experience with shaping her 'career moat' and giving her the confidence to later co-found leap.club, a community led networking platform for ambitious women.

At leap.club, she helped build a strong app based and offline network, raised $2.2 million in funding, and ensured that 50% of the cap table had women investors, a rare feat in India’s startup space.

In her new role at Google, Das will focus on driving impact for early stage founders across India through Google for Startups. She described the position as aligning perfectly with her journey, combining her passion for building, supporting entrepreneurs, and enabling access to networks and resources.
