First Future Skills Summit 2024 to be Held in Guwahati
The inaugural Future Skills Summit 2024 is scheduled to be held in Guwahati on February 15, 2024. Organized by the National Institute of Electronics and IT (NIELIT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the summit aims to bring together a diverse group of participants, including industry experts, policymakers, educators, and technology enthusiasts. The primary focus is on discussions and strategies for cultivating a talent pool that is well-prepared for the future, not only in India but on a global scale. The summit will delve into four key themes, addressing the worldwide impact of rapid digitization and exploring new opportunities for the youth in advanced technologies such as AI, ML, Semiconductors, Robotics, CyberSecurity, and more.
The summit's objective is to create a strategic plan aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of turning India into a worldwide talent hub, seizing the potential offered by emerging technologies. Anticipated outcomes include more than 20 strategic partnerships between NIELIT and various organizations like Intel, HCL, Microsoft, Kindryl, among others. Additionally, the summit will host a panel discussion on the future skills required for India, featuring distinguished figures from both the industry and academia.
The summit speakers will address the significance of fostering skills development for future economic growth and explore how technology can contribute to creating a more inclusive and sustainable society.
