EPIC Group Enters Indian Market, Teams with Colliers for Bhubaneswar Unit
Colliers India, a global diversified professional services and investment management company, has secured a prestigious design-build and turnkey assignment worth Rs 220 crore from EPIC Designers, a leading sustainable fashion company based in Hong Kong. This significant venture marks EPIC Designers' foray into the Indian market, as it prepares to establish its maiden manufacturing unit in the country.
The 40-acre parcel of land acquired by EPIC Designers at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, serves as the strategic location for its upcoming manufacturing facility. Anticipated to bolster EPIC's global outreach and cater to renowned brands, the facility will be managed by EPIC Group's subsidiary, Trimetro Garments India. The initial phase, spanning an impressive 338,000 square feet, is slated for completion by May 2025, with further expansion potential up to 381,236 square feet.
Indranil Basu, Managing Director of Project Management at Colliers India, emphasized the facility's adherence to global benchmarks and cutting-edge infrastructure akin to EPIC's established operations worldwide. Moreover, the facility underscores EPIC's commitment to sustainability, with a focus on sourcing eco-friendly materials, minimizing waste, and reducing carbon emissions. The project is expected to generate employment opportunities for over 6000 individuals, reinforcing EPIC's dedication to fostering socio-economic development.
Ranjan Mahtani, Executive Chairman of Epic Group, highlighted India's appeal as a manufacturing destination, citing its skilled workforce and textile prowess. Odisha's conducive business environment and strategic positioning further bolstered the decision to invest in the region. Mahtani expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's administration and leveraging the state's skilled labor pool to scale operations. The establishment of this state-of-the-art factory underscores EPIC's commitment to sustainability and underscores its global expansion strategy.
With existing manufacturing units in Bangladesh, Jordan, and Ethiopia, EPIC Group serves prominent clients such as Walmart and Uniqlo. India's burgeoning manufacturing landscape and its emphasis on export-driven growth have positioned it as a key player in the global economy. Experts anticipate India's ascendance as the world's third-largest economy by 2030, driven by its manufacturing prowess.
