EET Fuels Names Rob Wallace CEO of EET Hydrogen Power
EET Fuels has announced the appointment of Rob Wallace as the Chief Executive Officer of EET Hydrogen Power, marking a significant move in their efforts towards sustainable energy solutions. With over two decades of experience in the energy and utilities sector, Wallace's leadership will drive the development of a hydrogen-ready combined heat and power plant (CHP) at EET's Stanlow refinery.
The CHP plant is positioned to play a pivotal role in reducing carbon dioxide emissions, with an initial projected decrease of 180,000 tonnes per year, equating to a 13% reduction at the site. Upon its transition to hydrogen power, the plant aims to achieve an even more substantial reduction, projected at 740,000 tonnes annually, equivalent to removing 350,000 cars from the road.
EET Hydrogen Power is integral to EET's broader strategy of transforming the Stanlow location into a center for low-carbon refinery processes and significant hydrogen production in the UK's North West region.
Rob Wallace expressed his enthusiasm for joining EET and contributing to their innovative hydrogen and industrial carbon capture projects. He emphasized EET's strides towards becoming a leading example of innovation and decarbonization in the UK.
Tony Fountain, CEO of EET, extended a warm welcome to Wallace, highlighting his expertise in hydrogen and power development as a valuable asset in achieving the company's ambitious decarbonization goals.
With Wallace's appointment, EET reinforces its commitment to driving sustainability and innovation in the energy sector, positioning itself as a key player in the transition towards a low-carbon future.
