Cognizant Expands Presence in India with New Centre in Bhubaneswar
US-based multinational company Cognizant has inaugurated its new centre at the Odisha Technology Centre in Bhubaneswar. The facility was opened by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, along with Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S. The launch is part of Cognizant's expansion plans across emerging technology hubs in India.
Expressing delight at the choice of Bhubaneswar as the expansion hub, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik highlighted the state's proactive policies and administration in supporting the center's functioning. He expressed confidence that Cognizant's presence would generate high-value job opportunities for the youth of Odisha and contribute to the state's growth.
CEO Ravi Kumar S. emphasized the significance of Bhubaneswar as an education hub with highly skilled talent and robust infrastructure. He mentioned plans to leverage Odisha's 200 tech colleges as feeders for the company, positioning Odisha as a mega hub for Cognizant.
The collaboration between Cognizant and the Odisha government's electronics and information technology department resulted in the establishment of the centre within seven months, a feat praised by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Cognizant plans to bring its associate volunteering program, Cognizant Outreach, and the efforts of Cognizant Foundation to Bhubaneswar, contributing to community service in the region. The event was attended by State's Electronics and IT Minister Tusharkanti Behera and 5T Chairman V K Pandian, among others.
