Bengaluru to Become India's Nano Tech Hub: CM Siddaramaiah

Inaugurating the 13th edition of ‘Bengaluru India Nano’, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared the city’s imminent transformation into India’s nano technology hub. The event, a significant milestone in the field, saw enthusiastic participation from experts and stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, CM Siddaramaiah expressed his confidence in Bengaluru’s potential, backed by premier research institutions such as IISc, JNCASR, NCBS, and CeNS. “With the support of these esteemed institutions, Bengaluru will be transformed into the Nano Tech Hub of India, maintaining its eminent position in this emerging technology”, he asserted.
The Chief Minister emphasized the crucial role of nanotechnology in addressing various challenges. “I call upon our scientists and engineers to develop innovative nanotechnology-based solutions for food security, energy security, water purification, infrastructure, medicine, health care, and waste management. These solutions are vital to combat the environmental hazards expected to rise due to urbanization, population growth, and lifestyle changes”, he stated.
Highlighting the significance of the event, CM Siddaramaiah said, “International events like this provide ample opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, technology exchange, skill development, and business collaboration”. He extended an invitation to young entrepreneurs to leverage these opportunities and establish new ventures in Karnataka, assuring government support to create a favorable ecosystem for the growth of the nanotechnology industry.
CM Siddaramaiah also expressed his gratitude to Bharat Ratna Prof. CNR Rao for his continuous guidance in organizing the event since its inception in 2007. He congratulated Prof. Arindam Ghosh, the recipient of the prestigious Prof. CNR Rao Bengaluru India Nano Science Award, recognizing his contributions to the field.
Reflecting on Karnataka’s legacy, the Chief Minister remarked, “Karnataka has always been renowned for its rich cultural heritage and strong foundation in educational and research activities. Our state is at the forefront of technology-based innovations”.
