Bangalore: World's Sixth Worst City for Driving

Bangalore: A relaxed long drive in the city is unimaginable and impossible even in dreams today. The mile-long traffic jams are a daily routine for the commuters in the cities and now a new study ranks Bangalore as the sixth worst city in the world for driving. Mexico City topped the list of worst cities to commute while Bangalore was closely followed by New Delhi that ranked the 7th place in the recently released IBM Commuter Pain Survey 2011.
According to the study that ranks the emotional and economic toll of commuting in cities, Montreal in Canada had the least painful commute of the cities studied, followed by London and Chicago. In the study conducted on 10 issues including commuting time, driving causes anger, time stuck in traffic, price of gas is already too high and decided not to make trip due to traffic etc, the cities scored as follows: Mexico City 108; Shenzhen 95; Beijing 95; Nairobi 88; Johannesburg 83; Bangalore 75; New Delhi 72; Moscow 65; Milan 53; Singapore 44; Buenos Aires 42; Los Angeles 34; Paris 31; Madrid 28; New York City 28; Toronto 27; Stockholm 26; Chicago 25; London 23; and Montreal 21.
