Meat Ban in Mumbai for Four days
BMC in Mumbai banned the sale of meat in the state during the four days of Paryushan Parva, a Jain festival. The ban however, was not implemented on the sale of fish or eggs. This event brought to notice the surging divide between the vegetarian and non-vegetarian sect in the country. Such different rules or concessions for different communities were met with a curt outcome.
