Women’ entry to Temples
An official of Travancore's Devasam Board, managing Kerala's Sabarimala temple made comments that shot a rage amongst the women in the country and the protest reflected on Twitter. Considering the custom of not letting young women enter the temple as they menstruate, Mr Gopalakrishnan was reported saying, "The day there will be a machine to detect if it's the 'right time' for women to enter temples, that day they will be allowed in Sabarimala." In reply to this misogynist statement, Nikita Azad, a young girl started a campaign titled #HappyToBleed on social networks.
