Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Renault Collaborate for Automotive Research
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has secured a position in the top 10 universities in India according to the NIRF 2023 rankings. In a recent signing event at the university's Coimbatore campus, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was established between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (Renault Nissan Tech). The MoU is designed to promote collaboration in diverse areas such as placements, internships, elective courses, joint research projects, and the establishment of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and labs.
The event featured Debashis Bimalprakash Neogi, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech, as the chief guest, and Hirotake Harada, Senior Vice President – Engineering at Renault Nissan Tech, as the guest of honour. Other dignitaries present included C Parameswaran, Principal Director of Corporate and Industry Relations at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; Suresh Kodoor, Director of Academia-Industry Partnership at CIR; and Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean of the School of Engineering.
As part of this partnership, Renault Nissan Tech donated a test car to support Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s cutting-edge research initiatives and related fields. Joint elective courses emphasizing in-depth studies will be initiated for automotive engineering. Launching of customized work integrated MTech programmes for industry professions on topics of Automotive Engineering and Thermal and Fluids Engineering is under consideration, working with Renault Nissan Tech.
