After Yoga Day, Govt Now Gears Up For Good Governance Day
BENGALURU: After a successful launch of World Yoga Day, the government is now pitching the idea of Good Governance Day. The idea reflects that the government has realized that good governance is the need of the hour in a country like India. Interesting news is that the government is planning to implement good governance day on the birthday of Atal Bihari Vajpayee—December 25. With this, the BJP also has a day to celebrate along with the rest of the world, which celebrates Christmas.
The HRD Ministry has rolled back the circular denying the cancellation of Christmas Holiday and so the ministries have come up with another reason to celebrate the day. Almost every ministry is looking forward to this day now. PMO wants all ministries to organize workshops and seminars in their constituencies in order to spread awareness. This program is expected to rope in the Gram Panchayat too to promote good governance.
Big news to note is that December 25 this year will be marked as Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Diwas by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and Suhshasan Diwas by ministry of culture and tourism. The MoRD will commemorate 15 years of launch of the rural roads scheme by Prime Minister Vajpayee in 2000. However, every ministry will be making important announcements to mark the celebration of birthday of Vajpayee.
