Jonathan Finer, the Principal Deputy National Security Adviser of the United States, marks a significant development in the ongoing strengthening of ties between India and the US. This diplomatic interaction follows the precedent set by the visit of US NSA Jake Sullivan to India and the reciprocal visit of India's NSA Ajit Doval to the US.

The focal point of this interaction was the comprehensive review of the Indian-US initiative on critical and emerging technologies (iCET), a   joint endeavor initiated by Prime Minister Modi and President Biden. This initiative aims to foster outcome-oriented cooperation in cutting-edge technologies. Deputy NSAs Finer and Misri carefully assessed the progress made under the iCET framework, expressing contentment with the ongoing collaborations across various domains.

Their discussions centered around semiconductors, quantum technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), defense, and advanced telecommunications. The deputy NSAs acknowledged the substantial strides achieved through interactions involving governments, industry, academia, and various stakeholders.
