Aarzoo Khurana's ATR Initiative: Protecting Tigers, Preserving Ecosystem
Aarzoo Khurana is a wildlife photographer who loves animals from the depth of her heart and a smart lawyer. She’s on an exciting adventure to visit 55 tiger reserves in India. Aarzoo started the “All Tiger Reserve” project last year. It is something completely new and has never been done before in India. The project is all about exploring these places.
This ATR project is more than just a trip. It shows how much Aarzoo cares about protecting wildlife, boosting tourism, and helping locals in big ways. She wants more people to know about these hidden places and visit them.
All Tiger Reserves (ATR): A Visionary Project
Aarzoo Khurana came up with the All Tiger Reserves (ATR) idea to visit all 55 tiger reserves in India. This project is completely new and has never been done in India before. She’s got a team of experts to help her out. It makes it a huge deal in wildlife protection. On her way, Aarzoo is not just taking pictures. Rather, she’s uncovering secret gems in these reserves and presenting them to everyone all around the world.
Aarzoo’s adventure started in October 2023 in Rajasthan’s beautiful places. More than half of her journey is completed; she has already visited 43 Tiger Reserves with amazing progress and a few tiger reserves are left now. She didn't leave any place behind and covered them all from Sariska to the lush places in Madhya Pradesh. With her dedicated team, Aarzoo will complete her journey soon!
Aarzoo and her team are now exploring the Northeastern tiger reserves after visiting places like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh. It shows how much she loves wildlife. Her meeting with tigress Katrina and the cubs was unforgettable, showing we’ve many wonders that are waiting to be found.
Once Aarzoo mentioned, “Exploring wildlife is really exciting but quite a tough job. We’ve faced a lot of challenges throughout our journey like minor injuries, hunger, and sleepless nights. But, we’re not done yet, as it is all worth it to explore these places and capture those special tiger moments.
About Aarzoo Khurana: The Person Behind the Project
Aarzoo Khurana is a both lawyer and a wildlife photographer. She loves exploring new places, particularly tiger reserves. Her photography journey started in Bharatpur. There she discovered her love for capturing animals on camera. Her hard work paid off when the photos of her appeared in top magazines like Discovery, BBC Earth, Reader’s Digest, and Nat Geo. Now, she is a brand ambassador of Sony.
Apart from that, Aarzoo’s work is also loved on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, with over 2 million fans following her. People really enjoy her photos and videos, like the one with a dancing peacock. One of those, in which she is with Kajri, a famous tiger from Badhavgarh has gained tons of likes on Instagram.

Inspiring Future Wildlife Photographers
Aarzoo Khurana’s message to future wildlife photographers is clear. She says being active, financially stable, and staying safe, are some of the things needed for a successful career in this field. They must have a backup plan.
Aarzoo said newbies can start from the public gardens and focus on small details. Her advice is super helpful, especially in India where options are limited for new photographers, particularly females. Most importantly, safety and doing things ethically are really important to her.

The goal of the ATR project is its positive effect on communities and wildlife protection. Aarzoo Khurana wants to torch light on the hidden tiger reserves. Particularly, she is more lean to those that can bring more tourists, create jobs, and help locals.
