Kennedy Family:

The most well-known political family in the world is the Kennedy Family. In the United States they were commonly referred to as the family descending from the marriage of Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr and Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald and were prominent in American politics and government. The Kennedys’ political connection was with the Democratic Party. The wealth and glamour of the family members, and their extensive and continuing commitment to public service elevated them to iconic status over the past half-century. Following the 1960 election of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, he and his two younger brothers, Robert F. Kennedy and Edward M. Kennedy, soon held prominent positions in the federal government, and received intensive publicity, emphasizing their youth, appeal, education and collective future in politics.

The family experienced several tragedies known as "the Kennedy curse". These include Rosemary's failed lobotomy, the assassinations of brothers John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy, the controversial Chappaquiddick incident, and four airplane crashes.
