'Scam India' to 'Skill India': Modi Pledged To Redeem India's Image

BANGALORE: India’s new and 15th Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech left others speechless in both the Houses of Parliament. Through his speech he unveiled his roadmap to change the country’s identity from “Scam India,” to “Skilled India.” He praised India by referring it as a young nation with 65 percent of population when compared to a matured country like China. Thus according to him mere degrees will not help the youth of our nation, they need to nurture skills too. He added that India can create a huge workforce which is in great demand the world-over through skilled development.

The Prime Minister said that he always believed in “collective strength” than a “numerical strength” and as he has achieved it now he would march ahead with pleasure. He said that his government will mainly focus on the upliftment of the poor along with the development of all sections, including Muslims, and promised to take along every political party and state to make the country prosperous and powerful. According to him bad governance is “worse than diabetes in the human body, which destroys the entire system. Last-mile delivery is the biggest problem".

In his speech Modi did not speak anything against the opposition instead he said: "We want to take you along, and if needed, we would also seek your guidance." Modi, also added that the government will "leave no stone unturned to fulfill" the promises made by it. He was giving his speech so strongly that other members had to listen to it very carefully. He said there was need to take bold decisions and also make small innovative changes at every level for the country to realize its full potential. He said MPs were custodians of the hope and aspirations of millions of Indians and thus he wanted to work in spirit of cooperative federalism.
