1. Mamata Banerjee: Designs Sari­-

Chief Minister (CM) of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, who is a successful political leader, has various achievements in her kitty. Mamata, the messiah who ended three decades of communist rule in West Bengal is all set to design a sari in an effort to promote Tantuja, the West Bengal government's dying handloom outlet. The saris will be marketed under the name ‘Biswa Bangla.’ Not just this, she has earlier designed logos for government programmes, decided the colour schemes to be used in government advertisements carrying her portraits, as well as provided inputs on how to promote Bengal's small and medium enterprises. Minister of State for Micro and Small Scale Enterprises and Textile Swapan Debnath said, “The Chief Minister wants to revive ailing ‘Tantuja’, once a popular handloom brand of Bengal, by designing sarees,” reports PTI.
