NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished citizens of the country on New Year and expressed the hope that the year 2015 brings immense happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone's lives.
"Wishing you & your family a wonderful 2015! May this year bring immense happiness, peace & prosperity in everyone's lives," he tweeted.
The New Year was ushered across the world over with much gusto, with people in India too joining the bandwagon celebrating with fireworks and rejoicing with other fun filled activities.
Initiating a new tradition, Modi government will also work on New Year.
According to reports, several ministers have already cancelled their tour and celebration plans. They have also been advised not to attend any corporate-style celebrations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will be working in office both on December 31 and January 1.
