New Ticket System & Plan of Rail Road Museum in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Long queues to reserve a train ticket are no more a worry. Benguluru south western railway introduced ten counters of Digital Dynamic Queue Management system this week. By this, ticket booking will be hassle free as passengers simply need to insert the reservation requisition slip into the custom made printer.

On this, the print gives out a token number with date and time. The customer now needs to be at the ticket counter with this issued slip, when the specific token number is displayed on screens and large TV monitors, as it happens in banks.

This method is already operational and successful in Mysore, Shimoga and Davanagere stations.

A rail-road museum is also in plan in the Majestic railway station by April 2016. This will have in showcase display of informative charts, technical details and photographs relating to Indian railway and its growth. The museum will also have running models of metro rails and 16 gold plated train models, some of which belong to the British era. Some heritage sites of Bengaluru will also be showcased here.

The budget of the museum is approximately 2crore and will be sponsored by S Ramji, proprietor of a private firm in Mysuru.
